Local Parks
I enjoy living close to the many parks here on the west side of town. During the week I usually walk Bear Creek Greenbelt, Peak View or Belmar Park, on the weekends mostly Green Mountain and the foothills. Here are some pictures from those park visits.

Holiday Tree Search
The snow that visited the Denver area in early November gave me the idea for the photo I would use on this year's West Metro Tax holiday card. I thought it would be easy, look for a tree in one of the many nearby parks here on the west side of town and decorate uit with battery powered lights. That three day snowstorm melted in three days, I was looking for a tree in snow. It took me seven nights to find the right tree, with the melting snow pushing my search into the foothills. The photo that was chosen for this year’s card is in Bear Creek Canyon near Idledale, about 10 miles west of my office.

Nov 7 Addenbrooke Park, Lakewood This was a real nice setting for a photo, but I didn't have enough lights

Nov 8 Colfax and Wadsworth, Lakewood This is a new little park, I don't know the name. That tree is growing up in a busy neighborhood

Nov 9 Green Gables Park, Lakewood This was probably my second favorite. More lights and more careful decoration was needed.

Nov 10 Belmar Park, Lakewood Again not enough lights to do it justice And I stomped all over the snow.

Nov 11 Crown Hill Park, Lakewood I didn't notice that this tree was surrounded by street lights and by this time, the snow was melting.

Nov 11 Red Rocks Park, Lakewood I liked this spot and the lights, but the clouds made it look too gloomy for the holidays.

Nov 13 Lookout Mountain This should have been a better picture. I need to work on my tree decoration skills.
