Holiday Tree Search
The snow that visited the Denver area in early November gave me the idea for the photo I would use on this year's West Metro Tax holiday card. I thought it would be easy, look for a tree in one of the many nearby parks here on the west side of town and decorate uit with battery powered lights. That three day snowstorm melted in three days, I was looking for a tree in snow. It took me seven nights to find the right tree, with the melting snow pushing my search into the foothills. The photo that was chosen for this year’s card is in Bear Creek Canyon near Idledale, about 10 miles west of my office.
Local Parks
I enjoy living close to the many parks here on the west side of town. During the week I usually walk Bear Creek Greenbelt, Peak View or Belmar Park, on the weekends mostly Green Mountain and the foothills. Here are some pictures from those park visits.
Colorado Rivers and Creeks
Beginning in May and extending into June, I drove around Colorado attempting to vist all of the major rivers and creeks in the state. I ended up visiting over ninety different spots and made videos of the rivers at each stop. This slideshow is a quick look at the trip in chronological order. The videos I created can by viewed on my, Tim Krasniewicz, Youtube channel.
Trip around Colorado May - December 2023
After the end of the 2023 tax season I decided that I needed to catch up on camping around Colorado. This was car camping in a Ford F150 with a camper top. Colorado is a great state for camping and I had a plan to spend 85 nights sleeping in the truck, mostly in primitive campsites away from organized campgrounds. Night number 85 was in eastern Colorado at the South Republican State Wildlife Area on December 30th. The temprature New Years eve morning was 15 degrees and I made my goal with a day to spare.
